After reading the reviews I decided on buying this model to replace the sub amp in my truck that I sold to finish an install. I have a small stereo business and have been installing for over 30 years. First the quality of the amp is top notch. No flimsy rca or power hook ups and I do like the ratchet type pot meters on most of the settings. It has a fan on the bottom of the amp for added cooling as well. I listen to classic rock and like the kick drum hit rather than the boom from my subs. I pushing 2 sound stream 12’s that are located right behind my seats in a Dodge Ram pick up. I thought they hit hard before with my old amp but this amp pushes them twice as hard. I was looking at the large Alpine amps to replace my old amp because I had installed several and they do have a lot of clean power but they didn’t make a model with a lot of power to fit under my seat. This amp is somewhat long but very narrow for an amp with this much power. So I purchased this one. To get the full output of this amp one would need a hefty upgrade of their electrical system. I have a small upgrade (230 amp alternator and 2 yellow top batteries). I have the gain set to 10 o clock and the bass boost at around 11. At these low settings this amp delivers a great deal of power to my subs and I have no doubt that they could blow them if I went any higher. The subs are rated for 1200 rms and 3000 peak. Although this amp pushes my speakers harder my lights dim less than with the older amp. I would say this amp is very efficient for the power it delivers. I have the means to buy any amp on the market but why waste money on big name brand amps when this unit delivers way more power and clarity than I would ever need….
