We are working on upgrading/replacing the head units, amps, subwoofers and speakers in all four of our cars. This one went into our newer Nissan Pathfinder and we decided to have it professionally installed since just doing the amp was a serious pain (hiding the wiring was a nightmare) and the spot where our radio goes isn’t exactly double din but more of a custom size so we needed the pros for this install.

Once installed I was really impressed with the quality of this unit for the price point. It said no CD/DVD on the page but ours did come with a CD/DVD slot. The sound is great with the new amp and new subwoofer (we have decent speakers in this vehicle right now so will wait until we come across a good deal on very high end speakers to replace those). My husband did have to adjust the bass a bit but after that everything sounded simply amazing. I was blown away by the difference in sound quality between this setup and our old one.

I love that this is touch screen. Our old radio wasn’t and I hated that. If, however, you are expecting the touch screen to be like your smart phone or even a newer GPS unit you’ll be a bit disappointed. There is some lag in the touch screen ability.

That and the remote are the reason this is getting four stars and not five. The remote is way too complicated to use while driving. It’s probably more likely to cause an accident than texting and driving is. So I highly suggest only passengers use the remote or use the remote when at stoplights or parked and not while driving.

Other than that this is a great radio for the price. The display is nice and bright, the backup camera works nicely, and I like the touch screen interface. It’s definitely a great value for the price. If you’re looking for a quality head unit that is chock full of features this is definitely one I would recommend.
