I got this for about $46. This thing is small and half the size of regular head unit in terms of depth. It’s also very light weight. It doesn’t have a CD player. I haven’t listened to CD on my old head unit for years. I got this to replace my Sony Xplod CDX-GT540UI because I accidently tapped the +12V battery wire to the RCA cable of my amp and that killed the Sony Xplod’s internal amp so no sound went to my speakers. The only reason why this didn’t get 5 stars is how they designed the face plate.I don’t usually look at user manual but for this head unit I head to. I never had a head unit where I had to press the power button to turn on even after I turn my car is on. I was thinking, “oh hell no?!? The first time I try a brand I never heard of and its defective.” Well turns out I need to press and hold the power button for it to turn on. You only need to do this whenever you turn it off again or when you take your face plate off and put it back on.Face plate rating – ***The face plate looks okay, but I didn’t like how its difficult to put it on and remove compare to the CDX-GT540UI. It’s just not intuitive. Considering how long face plate has been around for they should have got that right. I also don’t like how when you press the release button it doesn’t come off immediately because it flips out like an oven door and to pull it off you have to apply pressure to the left and pull. The SD slot is also in a very inconvenient location because when you flip the face plate out you would think the SD slot would be visible, but no its right at the bottom of the head unit where the face plate blocks it. I just don’t get their face plate design.Besides that I love everything about it. It has BT which lets you stream music and also let you take calls because it has a built in mic on the face. I tested it out the mic being at the bottom doesn’t really affect the call quality. Called my mom with it and she could hear me pretty clear. The visuals on the screen is not always a cityscape it does move when dependent on the music you’re playing. Here’s a tip: If you want to connect a subwoofer amp to it you can connect the sub woofer amp remote wire to the red wire of the head unit wire harness.UPDATE: This does not use the latest Bluetooth technology so the quality is not that great. The radio sound’s audio quality is better than the built in BT. I started using my Bluetooth 4.0 Receiver with the aux port. Kind of disappointed about the the built in Bluetooth.
