This Cap works great. I have no real complaints about the product itself. However, the install directions/setup was an absolute pain! Granted it has been a while since I installed a Cap Unit in a vehicle, I don’t ever remember it being this difficult to charge/setup. You would think that it is pretty simple. 3 terminals, 1 for ground, 1 hot, and 1 remote, but it was the charging section that really needed some clarity. The instructions said a light should come on when charging and once it was charged, said light would quit flashing. Unfortunately when I tried to charge it, it started beeping incessantly (which the manual said was the indicator that the polarity was reversed). Repeated the process several times. Still the same issue. Read a review that someone mentioned the terminals were mislabeled, so tried to reverse them, that made it worse! Finally said F-it and repeated the charging process and held the resistor on the positive terminal. The LCD came on, there was much beeping and lights flashing. The voltage on the meter began to drop, but leveled out around 8v and the began to climb to 12. Yay it was finally charged and ready to go! Has worked great and had no problems since.Pros – Price, Does its’ job!Cons – Terrible install sheet/directions and Charging Process.Would still recommend to anyone though!
