When I was younger I had a pioneer radio that I enjoyed very much that dad had installed so I can use that for reference.
Anyway, this unit. I got it from another site, but you don’t see a lot of info on it so I’m reviewing it. Keep in mind this was my first time installing a car stereo myself.
Pros
-the price
-Bluetooth actually seems to function. Paired right up with my galaxy s4
-for the budget, sound quality is actually decent even compared to my pioneer.
-layout is not bad it’s fairly easy to work
Cons
-lesser known brand
-sometimes the Bluetooth will cut out slightly if you are streaming music. This is a minor hiccup though and won’t affect listening to much. But you may consider using aux input or usb if this is a pet peeve.
If what you want is a cheap radio with Bluetooth this fits the bill. Not high end but sounds good in a 2006 stratus with stock speakers. It can hit with a little mid bass and has good sound quality especially for the money.
A couple of pet peeves not related to this product specifically. I did buy this from another site because they had all wiring harnesses and install kit included. The install kit I got was a scoshe kit and seemed to mount fine. But there were not a lot of instructions on how to put it all together, so some trial and error.
Specific to the 2006 stratus, the scoshe kit I was sold only said it went up to 2005 for the stratus. It mounted fine, but when I went to put the dash surround back on, the factory opening was not exactly the right size for the scoshe kit, so I had to take a knife to the stock trim piece and cut the opening a little wider so that all the clamps would pop back in place again.
A lot of guys use butt connectors. When I hooked this up I found it easiest to strip the wires, twist them together and take them over with electrical tape and tug to make sure they were solid. Easy to do and works fine.
