I mounted this recently on the back of my ATV. I thought about hardwiring it to the battery, but I have yet to do that. Using the "cigarette lighter" adapter is simple, however. It sounds pretty amazing, especially for outdoor speakers. Most outdoor speakers sound thin, trebly, and just plain nasty. The combination of woofer and tweeter together separates the bass and treble signals and provides a broad soundscape. I particularly like playing my music loud, especially if I’m having a get together – in this case, a get together out on the trail. It’s nice to have music at camp. The lights are a nice feature, but not necessary. All in all this is a very cool speaker system and well thought out. I recommend it.
