I installed a new system in my 07 Cobaltt and was unsure if this product was needed or not and I got it anyway. I installed it on a 5 channel amp with 1800 watts and you can crank it up and I have not had a single lite dimming issuse and it looks cool with the voltage reader on it. Make sure that you charge it per the instuctiions and it should work well for you as well.
